Ajay's Eco-art
Artist Bio
As an environmental artist, I harness a diverse array of mediums, materials, processes, and techniques to create powerful sculptures that confront humanity’s impact on the environment.
My latest work boldly addresses the urgent plastic crisis that threatens our planet. I transform data into a striking visual representation that embodies a wave of plastic. This wave symbolizes more than its physical form; it embodies the concepts of change, motion, transformation, strength, and power—elements that resonate across cultures and mythologies.
This wave forcefully illustrates nature reclaiming what we have carelessly discarded, invading human habitats just as we have invaded the natural world. It compels us to confront the harsh realities of our actions and the ways we engage with nature. My artworks highlight our wasteful practices and scrutinize the controversial and complex relationship we have with plastic and the environment.
Selected Work
Name: Wave of Plastic II- Time for change
The work boldly addresses the urgent plastic crisis. A wave of plastic, made from data, symbolizes change, strength, and transformation across cultures. It represents nature reclaiming what we’ve discarded. My work compels reflection on our waste, our relationship with plastic, and the pressing need for change. “Is it Time for change?”
The painting/cutout is based on a photo from the 1930s when constructing skyscrapers became a strong drive, and the competition to build the world’s tallest building was fierce. I used this image as a symbol of human desire. I replaced the ridiculous-looking hats in the photo with more recent tall buildings, indicating ongoing development and devastation to our environment, using a lone frog to represent nature.
