Artist Bio

I am an amateur painter inspired by the shifting colour and atmosphere of my local environment.

Based in Redcar, I am self taught and work mainly in acrylic on canvas. The first two pieces are a departure from my usual process as they are set in an urban environment. My aim is to explore the experience of a precise moment from separate locations. Does the uniformity of the subject matter and precise moment of image capture evoke the same response in the painter and viewer? The third piece, "open", is older and contrasts the rich visual experience of exposed coastal habitat against its gradual loss over time.
